About Walakis

Un programme visant le développement rural via des mesures pour l'agriculture, la formation,  l'environnement, la biodiversité et les initiatives locales.

What is Walakis? Why is it there? Who is it for?

Walakis stands for ‘Walloon Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System’.

The aim of the Walakis platform is to improve the visibility of knowledge and innovation players in the fields of agriculture, forestry and rural development (advisory, research and training bodies, farmers, foresters, the Walloon CAP network, etc.), and to strengthen the exchange of knowledge and innovations between these players.

To this end, on Walakis you will find:

  • a directory of Walloon AKIS players
  • a ‘Documentation Centre’ which will reference or offer all the materials validated by the monitoring committees of projects subsidised by the Walloon Region or under the responsibility of the information producers (final results of research and development projects, final results of demonstration trials and experimentation centres, technical data sheets, scientific summaries, etc. )
  • a calendar of Walloon, Belgian and European knowledge transfer events in agriculture and forestry (conferences, study days, training courses, etc.)
  • working or discussion groups

This platform is aimed at a wide audience: farmers, foresters, research centres, universities, training centres, advisory bodies, the citizens, and so on…

The platform is being set up by the SPW (https://spw.wallonie.be) with the help of the Réseau wallon PAC (https://www.reseauwallonpac.be/). The Walakis platform and the RwPAC website will therefore share a common structure and web address. Users will be able to switch easily between the Walakis and RwPAC sections via the main tabs.

The platform is co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
